A little about myself: I was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, but have made Chicago my home for over twenty years, ever since graduating from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I came to Chicago to earn a doctorate in classical languages and literature (that is, ancient Greek and Latin) at Loyola University, but after graduating I stayed in the city to conduct my ministry here.

In addition to my parish work, I teach part time at Concordia University Chicago, which despite its name is really located in suburban River Forest. I have contributed translations to several volumes of the Ancient Christian Commentary on Scripture series, and my translation of the anonymous fifth-century Incomplete Commentary on Matthew appeared in 2010 as part of the Ancient Christian Text series.

Among other pursuits, I enjoy hiking, bicycling, reading, and taking care of my vegetable garden.
